The company «Petz Kolophonium» was founded in 1912 by Ernst Petzka in Vienna (Austria). As a musician himself, Ernst, after many experimental attempts, successfully developed the formula for his «Petz» rosin. His rosin gained recognition throughout the musical world, as a result of which, he was offered to organize the production of high-quality rosin in large quantities and export it worldwide.

The company manufactures and exports «Petz» rosin to this day. All subsequent owners follow the recipe and tradition of the popular brand. In 1995, Elisabeth and Rudolf Kegl took on the responsibility of continuing these traditions.

Currently, «Petz Kolophonium» is a modern export-import wholesale company specializing in string instruments, accessories for them, as well as materials and tools for violin makers. The company has wholesale customers and dealers in more than 80 countries worldwide.
